Humanity
Humanity Adversity struck- no hope remained Man knew not what to do So they looked above at the heavens At what they called God- and away their problems flew. Or so it seemed- but God stuck nonetheless Erasing all pain- the benefactor for all Bestowing support and kindness to all beings Through summer, winter and fall. But in the process, haven't people forgotten That there are fellow humans out there, With aspirations and hopes like theirs And some love and support to spare? Thou shouldn’t forget, dear friend While you firmly believe in Him That there is a source of solace more concrete And that not all humans are grim. For, humanity is always there, waiting to help, Expecting in return neither offering nor hymn.
