The RedBull Pixie

I opened another can of soda one day

And you won’t guess what popped out-

Dressed in green, yellow, ochre and gray

Jumped out a pixie- round and stout

I’ve never seen a frickin’ pixie before,

Much less one that is obese

But tell me- which pixie lineage from days of yore

Could have been obsessed with Mac & Cheese?

But this one was, somehow, and so she dove

Right into my delicious supper

With passion, zeal and gluttonous love

She finished it all- that little suker…

With the sauce dripping from her spherical body

She noticed me- at last- and gave me her hand

Her poise was royal, her face all lordy,

Aiyoo!- that attitude! I just couldn’t stand!

With a cunning smile and and icy heart

I backhanded her off the table

Destiny has dictated that this is how we part,

Dear pixie- beauty of some nightmarish fable

The critter wouldn’t give up- she stood up, hurt

And saw me with eyes filled with hate

I suppose she was gonna apologise, but

By now, it was just too late.

Before she could fly away, I grab the little fellow

As she shouts out blasphemous swears

’For the love of ‘mac & cheese!,’ I bellow

And dramatically throw her down the stairs.

Phew! I sit down, relaxed, and pick up my RedBull

And gulp it down with guiltless bliss

I have hardly eaten anything, and I’m far from half-full

But I feel like something more’s amiss.

I roam around listlessly, open the larder

And realize what will now give me peace;

I then whip out my phone and promptly order

Myself some more mac & cheese : )

P.S. This poem strays away from the kind I have been recently writing recently. But this is what my first poems looked like! I finished my exam early the other day, and I was sitting there, doing nothing, when I felt like writing a poem. I wanted to get back to my roots, take off my intellectual hat, and just bust out a fun, children’s rhyme-style ballad once more. And I felt so cheered up after I was done with it! Hope you like it as much as I do ; )

And side note, I have never tasted both RedBull and Mac & Cheese before. But who cares?! They make for good rhymes! I mean, come one- RedBull and half-full? That’s some freakin’ Dr. Seuss stuff right there!
